Steven was born in New York as a son of a high school teacher and a mechanic. His childhood was filled with joy
and calm, though he didn't know that everything was going to change soon. After the terrible accident what killed his
parents, he and his sister Alex were inconsolable. Things got even worse when his sister disappeared one night  without
saying a word. After that the boy started to search for Alex and now when he has finally found her, he can reunite with his family.

Jonathan is a werewolf who Alex met while staying in Chicago. After a while they developed a on and off relationship
what lasted until Alex left the windy city. Since then Jonathan tried to move on and forget the girl, but failed. He tried to find
her using help from his friends across the US. Finding out  that the girl was headed to Mystic Falls, Jonathan decided to head there also.

Alex met Natalia also while staying in Chicago. Their relationship was at first friendly and it seemed that they
were best friends, but it all changed when Jonathan came to picture. Natalia had a crush on Jonathan for years and was
jealous that Alex was dating him. She started to manipulate with the girl, telling everyone her secrets and trying to break the couple up. After Alex found out that Natalia was the one who was spreading different rumours, she confronted her and Natalia told her everything. After Alex left and Jonathan left to search for her, Natalia decided to join him in hopes to get closer to him and eventually making him love her, not Alex.
